1. Using Pengo

Pengo is a wealth and expense tracking app built by Curly Braces ("we", "us"), based in Pakistan. These terms apply to the Pengo mobile app and this website (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using Pengo you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use Pengo.

2. Your account

You can sign in with Apple, Google or your email address using a one-time code. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in details and your phone secure. Tell us at business@curlybraces.co if you think someone else has accessed your account.

The financial information you add or connect, such as accounts, balances, transactions, bills, goals, debts and investments, stays yours. You give us permission to process it only to provide Pengo to you.

3. Free trial, subscription and billing

• Pengo starts with a 3-day free trial. After the trial it costs $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year, and every feature is included.
• Payment is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Their terms apply to billing and refunds, and refunds are decided by them under their policies.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings before the renewal date.
• If you cancel during the free trial, you are not charged. If you do not cancel, your chosen plan starts when the trial ends.
• We may change our prices. A price change applies from your next renewal, and we will tell you in advance where the store requires it.
• Prices may be shown in other currencies by the store. We list prices in US dollars.

4. Bank connection, message access and logging

Pengo can log transactions in several ways: by voice, from documents you provide, by connecting your bank account, and by reading your bank's transaction messages (SMS) on your phone.

• Bank connection and message access are optional. They only work if you choose to turn them on and grant the permission.
• You can turn them off at any time in Profile, and you can remove the permission in your phone settings.
• Pengo uses this access to find transactions and add them to your records. It does not make payments or move money from your accounts.
• Automatic logging can make mistakes, such as a wrong amount, category or duplicate. Check your entries and correct them in the app.
• Bank connection depends on your bank and country, and may not be available for every bank.

5. Rewards and penalties

Limits, rewards and penalties are commitment tools that you set up and that are tracked inside Pengo, for example moving an amount into a Fun fund or Charity pot. Pengo does not transfer real money between your accounts, make donations on your behalf, or buy anything for you.

6. Not financial advice

Pengo helps you track and understand your money. It does not give financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Reports, totals, investment values and answers from the Pengo coach are based on information you provide or connect, and may be incomplete, delayed or wrong. Make your own decisions and speak to a qualified professional when you need one.

7. Acceptable use

Do not misuse Pengo. That includes trying to access someone else's account or data, copying or reverse engineering the app, interfering with the Service or its security, or using it for anything unlawful. We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

8. Our rights

The Pengo app, name, penguin mascot, design and software belong to Curly Braces. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app while these terms apply. This does not give you ownership of any part of it.

9. Availability and changes to the Service

We work to keep Pengo running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We may update, add or remove features, and we will give notice of major changes where we reasonably can.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using Pengo and delete your account at any time by emailing business@curlybraces.co. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. Cancelling the subscription is done in the App Store or Google Play.

11. Disclaimers and liability

Pengo is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not give warranties about accuracy or fitness for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost savings, or losses caused by relying on information in the app. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email. Using Pengo after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Disputes will be handled by the courts of Islamabad, unless the law where you live gives you the right to use your local courts.
